  • Cyclonic storms in Tripura, India
    -Seven killed and at least 30 people  injured in Tripura.
    -Strong winds and hailstorms from last five days have damaged more than 1,000 houses.
    -10.5 mm rainfall in capital city and hailstorms reported across the state.
    -Amarpur subdivision to be worst affected.
    -District administrations has distributed Rs.1,000 to each affected family as immediate assistance.
    -Tripura is a state in North-East India which is surrounded by Bangladesh on the north, south, and west.
  • Tornadoes in Woodward Region, Oklahoma
    -Two tornadoes reported in northwest Oklahoma.
    -One tornado reported 3 miles south-southwest of Woodward  and other east of Sharon.

  • M 5.8 very strong shallow harmless sea quake North of Ascension Island (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 753 km N of Ascension Island. Ascension Island is an isolated volcanic island in the equatorial waters of the South Atlantic Ocean. Monrovia (Liberia) is 896 km far from the epicenter.

Flooding List
  • Flash flood in Cagayan, Philippines
    -Heavy rainfall caused flash flood in Claveria and Santa Praxedes region of Cagayan.
    -Atleast 3,786 people reported to be affected in Claveria and 338 families in Sta. Praxedes.
    -Parts of Barangay roads flooded. Several schools in Alimoan, Luzon, Cadcadir, Union, Sto. Tomas, Bilibiago and Buenavista also reported to be flooded
    -2.0 ha of Irrigated rice and 22.2 ha of vegetables are damaged.
    -PDRRMC has send 1,500 assorted relief packs for Claveria and Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan.
    -Three people were killed in March after flooding in Bicol region of Philippines

Natural Disaster News
  • Three firefighters reported to be injured in two different Wildfires across Brookhaven and Riverhead, USA. About 1,000 acres of land is destroyed in Suffolk County.  Evacuation order is still in effect in Riverhead and Manorville. Train services on the North Fork also reported to be cancelled by the wildfire.

    State of emergency declared in Suffolk County.
  • About 2,000 firefighters are struggling to control the Forest fire near Chengde city in Hebei province of China.
  • According to the recent reports by Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) and National Disaster Reduction Committee (NDRC) of China, natural disasters have so far killed 66 and affected some 21.78 million people in first four months of 2012 in China. Around 200,000 houses are reported to be damaged or collapsed. Common natural disasters within this period were drought, snowstorm, earthquake and landslides.
