  • Flooding in Mindanao, Philippines
    -Death toll due to Mindanao floods has risen to six. Still 68 people are reported to be missing.
    -At least 22 villages in three low-lying towns in Maguindanao is flooded.
    -More than 10,000 families reported to be displaced in several Mindanao provinces, including Sarangani.
    -Glan was declared under a state of calamity yesterday afternoon.
    -Extreme weather disturbance caused floods, landslides and storm surges in this area.

  • M 5.4 moderate shallow earthquake in Northern Xinjiang, China (@ 35 km depth) with epicenter located 160 km (99 miles) WNW of Korla. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Shihezi, Yining and Urumqi.

  • M 5.6 moderate earthquake in Molucca Sea (@ 57 km deph) with epicenter located 85 km NW from Ternate. Weak shaking will have in Tobelo, Bitung, Laikit, Laikit II (Dimembe, Tondano, Manado and Tomohon region.

  • M 4.8 moderate shallow earthquake in Western Turkey (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 32 km S Fethiye. Tremors will have felt as far as Antalya.

  • M 5.2 moderate very shallow earthquake in Taiwan (@ 6 km depth) with epicenter located 28 km S Hualian. It will have felt as far as Taichung and Kaohsiung.

  • M 4.5 moderate earthquake recorded in Zamboanga, Philippines. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, moderate shaking of MMI V was well felt in Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay, light shaking in Liloy and Labason in Zamboanga del Norte and weak shaking of MMI II-III in Kalawit and Salog, Pagadian City; Zamboanga City; Sindangan and Manukan.
  • M 3.8 light earthquake in Northern Italy (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 6 km NE Novi di modena. Light to weak shaking will have Modena and Milan.

  • M 5.3 moderate shallow earthquake in Turkey-Syria-Iraq Border Region (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 5 km S Silop. Moderate to light shaking will have felt by the people of Sirnak, Dahuk, Al-mawsil, Mossul and Irbil.

    -At least 18 people have been injured in Silopi.
    -Aftershocks continue to occur.
  • M 4.1 moderate shallow earthquake in Greater Los Angeles Area, California (Orange County @ 6 km depth) with epicenter located just 3 km  from Yorba Linda. Moderate shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Yorba Linda, Chino Hills, Placentia and Brea. Weak shaking will have by the people of Villa Park, Los Serranos, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Riverside, Long Beach and Los Angeles.   • Indonesia/Mount Gamkonora recent volcanic activity
    -Hundreds of residents in northeastern Indonesia evacuated.
    -Thick ash clouds seen up to 3,000 meters high.
    -Volcano's alert status raised to Siaga (level 3), the second-highest level.

Flooding List
  • Flooding in Taiwan
    -At least six people reported to be killed in flooding in southern and central Taiwan.
    -About 7,000 people evacuated after heavy rains caused flash floods and landslides.
    -Still 54 major highways reported to be blocked by water or landslides.

  • Tropical Storm Carlotta
    -Tropical storm Carlotta is currently located 695 km SSE of Puerto Angel and 1025 km se of Acapulco Mexico.

    -The center of the cyclone is expected to approach the southern coast of Mexico on Friday.
  • Tropical Storm Guchol
    -Tropical storm Guchol is located approximately 800 nm east-southeast of Manila, Philippines.
