It was felt in Aliso Viejo, Anaheim, Brea, Chino, Chino Hills, Corona, Costa Mesa, Foothill Ranch, Fullerton, Irvine, La Mirada, Lake Elsinore, Los Alamitos, Orange, Placentia, Riverside and Santa Ana (following USGS felt reports)

Update
No major damage expected especially in Chino Hills area as most of the infrastructure in this area is relatively new and well suited to withstand a large quake.

The earthquake epicenter is just 9 km W from Chino Hills. Earthquake in Chino Hills in 2008 damaged numerous structures throughout the area. It was then determined to have been generated by the "Yorba Linda trend.

Strong jolt felt!
Chad from Chino Hills: Single jolt..Scary :o
C jones from Aliso viejo: Shaking and then rolling couple minutes later.
A saron from Huntington Beach: Heard a boom and one strong jolt. It lasted only a second or two, but was a little frightening.

  1. Where was that loud sound heard came from with the earthquake? I have experienced few earthquakes in the past, but none came with a booming sound.
