  • Heavy flooding in Thunder Bay, Canada
    -A state of emergency declared in Thunder Bay region following heavy flooding.
    -Flood emergency declared for Conmee Township and the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge.
    -Heavy rainfall recorded in Thunder Bay and in Oliver Paipoonge. About 108 millimeters of rainfall recorded over the last 24 to 36 hours.

    -People of Conmee Township and the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge are said to be on high alert.
    -Several sections of Highway 11 and 17, Oliver Road, Twin City Crossroads, Fraser Road, Boulter Road, Poleline Road, Veley Lane, Maki Road and Mud Lake Road flooded.

  • Flooding in Nicaragua
    -Death toll by Nicaragua flood has risen to 8.
    -Six bodies were found in northern part of the country and two in the capital Managua.
    -Two more bodies found yesterday. Both reported to be local fishermen.
    -According to a report by the Civil Defense, more than 4,400 people have been affected by the rains. Several houses reported to be destroyed.

    After long (3 hours), EMSC has mentioned about this Malaysian quake. It mentions M 4.9 @ 10 km depth with epicenter located 31 km S Lahad datu and 42 km NW Semporna. Above data (M 4.4) is by MET Malaysia.
  • M 5.3 moderate earthquake in Honshu Japan (@ 62 km depth) with epicenter located just 30 km E of Tokyo. Moderate to light earthquake will have felt by the people of Sakae, Narita, Yokohama, Mito and Utsunomiya of Honshu, Japan. Japan Meteorological Center (JMA) mentions M 5.2 @ 80 km depth in Chiba-ken Hokuseibu region. Max. JMA intensity 4 for parts of Kanagawa and Tokyo.

  • Flooding in Metro Manila
    -Flooding caused after heavy rainfall hit parts of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).
    -Traffic jams reported from Magallanes to Tramo in southern Metro Manila.
    -PAGASA already forecast about a low-pressure area off Bicol which may bring rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon. Potential cyclone is also expected in first week of this June.
  • Mud flood in Pendang, Malaysia
    -Heavy rainfall caused mud flood in Kampung Kilang Kechil of Pendang, Malaysia.
    -Several houses flooded. However on injury reported.

    Thunderstorms and heavy rain occurring over states of Penang (Northern Seberang Perai, and Southern Seberang Perai Districts), Perak (Kerian, Larut,Matang&Selama, Hulu Perak, Kinta and Batang Padang Districts), Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor Districts), Pahang (Kuantan and Jerantut Districts), Terengganu (Kemaman District), Sabah : Divisions of Interior (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tenom Districts) and West Coast (Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Papar Districts); and Sarawak : Division of Limbang is expected to persist until Tuesday, 29 May 2012 dawn.

    -Beryl is located 30 km E of Jacksonville Florida1 and 00 km S of Brunswick Georgia.
    -Beryl made landfall along the coast of Florida near Jacksonville Beach.
    -Huguenot Park near Jacksonville Beach recently reported sustained winds of 53 mph (85 km/h) with a gust of 68 mph (109 km/h
    -The Jacksonville Aviation Authority has announced that all airlines, except JetBlue and Delta, have cancelled.

  • Landslide in Nantou, Taiwan
    -Several landslides reported in central county of Nantou, Taiwan
    -Heavy rainfall from several days caused landslides.
    -More than 120 mm rainfall recorded in Renai Township, Aowanda Mountain, and the Sun Moon Lake area in Yuchih Township.
    -Nantou County is the second largest county of Taiwan. It is also the only landlocked county in Taiwan.
  • Flooding in parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin
    -Weather Service in Duluth warned about flooding in parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, and flooding in some Minnesota rivers.
    -Heavy rain expected Sunday night till late Monday.
