• Heavy rainfall and hailstorm in Northwest China
  -Death toll has risen to 57. Still 15 are reported to be missing.
  -Last storms and the subsequent flash floods and landslides affected about 358,000 people in Minxian.

• M 4.7 moderate aftershocks in Azerbaijan (@ 22 km depth) with epicenter located just 14 km ESE of Zaqatala (Zakataly). M 5.7 mainshock a week ago, damaged around 3200 houses and injured atleast 35 people.

• Tropical storm Aletta
  -Aletta has weakened to a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph (55 kph).
  -The depression is centered about 835 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California.

Natural Disaster News

• Lightning in Magura, Bangladesh
  -Three killed and five other injured as lightning strikes Sadar and Mohammadpur Upazilas of Magura.
  -5-10 mm of rain is forecast in Dhaka Bangladesh from Friday evening to Saturday evening; higher amounts in thunderstorms.
