  • Heavy windstorms in Turkey
    -Four killed and 31 other injured after heavy storms hit parts of Turkey. Around 400 houses damaged.
    -About 43 domestic and international flights of the Turkish Airlines cancelled.
    -Service by most passenger ships postponed or cancelled.
    -Many people injured due to collapse of roof of houses.
    -Several traffic accidents in the road joining Ankara and Konya.
    -Wind speed of 90 km/hr recorded in Istanbul.

  • M 4.8 moderate deep earthquake in Central Peru (@ 123 km depth) with epicenter located 60 km SE Santo tomás. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Santo tomás, Sicuani and Cusco (Cuzco), Peru.

  • M 3.7 weak shallow earthquake in New South Wales, Australia with epicenter located 54 km W from Canberra. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt as far as Queanbeyan, Cooma and Batemans Bay city of Australia.
    Canberra is Australia's largest inland city located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory, 280 km south-west of Sydney, and 660 km north-east of Melbourne.

    Update
    -Epicenter was close to Clive. Tremor lasted between 10 and 15 seconds.
    -No damage or injury reported.
    -The largest earthquake recorded in this region was of M 4.2 in the late 1990s.
  • M 4.5 moderate very shallow aftershocks in Oaxaca, Mexico (@ 1 km depth) today with epicenter located 31 km SE Ometepec. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Huajuapan de Leon (Oaxaca), Acapulco and Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico.

  • M 5.2 moderate shallow earthquake in Honshu, Japan (@ 18 km depth) with epicenter located  38 km E of Iwaki. Weak shaking will have felt by the people of Hitachi, Iwaki, Kōriyama and Tokyo city.

  • M 5.1 moderate shallow earthquake in Taiwan (@ 19 km depth) with epicenter located just 18 km NE Hualian. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Hualian, Su-ao and Fenglin. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Taichung.

  • M 4.7 moderate earthquake in Coquimbo, Chile (@ 52 km depth) with epicenter located 40 km S of Ovalle. Light to weak shaking will have felt in Coquimbo, La Serena and Ovalle. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt as far as Santiago.

    -Slight increase in seismic activity with emission of ash.
    Update
    Special bulletin by Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Manizales at 11:30 am local time today mentioned a seismic signal lasting about 20 minutes with emission of ashes. 
  • Guatemala/Santiaguito recent volcanic activity
    -Explosions have been observed in Santiaguito volcano with gray ash columns raised to 700 meters above the crater traveling approximately 12 kilometers east of the volcano.

Flooding List
  • Flooding in Paraguay
    -Paraguay Pilcomayo's river flooding has affected about 40,000 people.
    -A state of emergency remains in place in three departments of the Chaco (Paraguay's western region)
