  • Flooding in San Fernando Valley, USA
    -Rockslide in Malibu
    -Freeway lanes reported to be flooded along the Antelope Valley Freeway near Canyon Country
    -Following National Weather Service (NWS), downpour may last for 3-5 hours
    -8 to 15 inches of snow is expected at elevations of about 6,000 feet or more
    -Monday the weather will be dry and mostly sunny

  • M 6.0 very strong shallow harmless sea quake in Northern East Pacific Rise (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 568 km E of Clipperton Island. The residential area is very far from epicenter. Acapulco (Guerrero, Mexico) is 568 km far from epicenter.

    The Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR), a divergent tectonic plate boundary located along the floor of the southwest Indian Ocean, separates the African Plate to the north from the Antarctic Plate to the south.

  • Mexico/Popocatepétl recent volcanic activity
    -Within two days (March 24 and 25), the volcano had 33 small steam and gas emissions, followed by small earthquakes and volcanic tremor
    -Currently the visibility of the volcano is partially due to cloud cover over the area
    -The light of volcanic alert remains in YELLOW Phase 2. Popocatepetl is one of Mexico's most active volcanoes
  • Indonesia/Batu Tara recent volcanic activity
    -Aviation colour code raised to Orange
    -Larger ash eruption today
    -Batu Tara lies off the coast of Iceland on combo of the Indonesian island of Flores
  • Alaska/Iliamna recent volcanic activity
    -Current Aviation Color Code for this volcano is Yellow
    -The current activity at Iliamna does not indicate an imminent or certain eruption
    -Three Alaskan volcanoes
    Iliamna, Cleveland and pagan are under Yellow Alert where as Kilauea is one step high to Orange.

Flooding List
  • Flooding in Kashechewan and Fort Albany, Ontario, Canada
    -Ice jams on the Albany River caused flooding
    -More than 300 people on the James Bay coast in northern Ontario evacuated to Kapuskasing and Wawa
    -More people will be evacuated and moved to safer place today
