    EMSC Felt Reports
    Jarocin (Poland): It felt as if a lorry drove into the building or as if the chimney had collapsed, except that there was no impact sound. We ran outside to check what was happening and saw that the neighbours were also going/looking out
    Jarocin (Poland): In fact i didn't notice any shakes or sth. My dog woke up and he seemed to be scared. Same with my parrot. My mother said that her whole bed were shaking for about 3-4 seconds. Only thing that i have noticed is sth like underground explosion or sound of falling objects or deaf sound.
    Jarocin (Poland): It was probably an explosion of a gas in the nearby city called "Chrzan"
    Góra (Poland): I still have not left the building I was in during the earthquake

    M 4.7 very shallow earthquake recorded after 6 hours just 13 km ENE of Christchurch, New Zealand. More than 15 aftershocks recorded today
  • M 4.6 moderately dangerous aftershocks in Van, Turkey with epicenter located just 51 km NE from Van, Turkey (@ 10 km depth). It will be well felt by the people of Özalp, Ercis  and Van. It is the same area where earlier M 7.2 dangerous earthquake killed 605+ people in Turkey (@ Turkey earthquake 2011)

Recent Volcanic Activity

  • Indonesia/Lewotolo Recent Volcanic Activity
    -Hundreds of people being evacuated because of increased volcanic activity
    -Most of the people have moved to nearby Lewoleba city
    -On January 2, the country's Volcanology and Geology Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) raised the alert level at the
    Lewotolo Volcano to level 3 (scale 1-4)

    PVMBG told seven out of 127 volcanoes in Indonesia are in danger status of level III which are Mount Papandayan, Mount Lokon, Mount Karangetan, Mount Kawah Ijen, Mount Anak Krakatau, Mount Gamalama and Mount Lewotolo
  • Chile/Lascar Recent Volcanic Activity
    - A State of ALERT
    is declared by Chile’s government regarding increase volcanic activity in Lascar (YELLOW ALERT)
    -Series of tremors recorded after which government urged local residents including tourists in the town of San Pedro de Atacama to be in ALERT condition

  • Flooding in Kuching, Malaysia
    -150mm of rain in just three hour
    -1400 people evacuated to 5 flood relief centers
