Kentucky Tornado outbreak December 11, 2021: At least 83 killed in Southern and Midwestern United States

December 12, 2021: At least eighty three people have been killed in tornado outbreak in the Southern and Midwestern United States from evening of December 10 to the early morning of December 11, 2021. At least seventy people died in Kentucky, six in Illinois, four in Tennessee, two in Arkansas and one in Missouri. More than fifteen tornadoes were recorded in different areas including WSW of Taylorsville, NE of Wellsville, SW of Monette, AR to NE of Samburg, TN, NW of Branson West,NW of Augusta to SE of Harvester,S of Diaz,NE of Augusta, SW of Edwardsville, SSW of Beedeville, SW of Cayce to SSE of Hardinsburg, S of Sorento to NW of Cowden, SSE of Windsor to NE of Mattoon, N of Cedar Lake, W of McDaniels, SW of Bumpus Mills to Pembroke, W of Russellville, S of Ada and SW of Dickson An emergency disaster declaration has been approved by United States President Joe Biden for the state of Kentucky. INDIA: Violent tornado in Odisha injures 12 people

June 16, 2020: A tornado in the Rajnagar block of Odisha ’s Kendrapara district has injured 12 people and damaged 70 houses. The storm has affected several villages including Rangani, Patparia, Baghamari, Garata, Ahirajpur, Keruapala, Sailendrasarai, Hatiaganda, Pravati, Kantiakhai and Khamarasahi.

EF0 tornado in Saanich, B.C. today

May 21, 2020: A weak, short-lived EF0 tornado touched down in Saanich, B.C. today, the Environment Canada confirmed. The rare tornado in Saanich only lasted a few seconds and there were no reported injuries. According to  the Environment Canada , EF0 tornadoes have wind speeds of between 90 and 130 km/hr.

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency confirms 6 deaths due to recent tornadoes

April 13, 2020: The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has confirmed six deaths due to tornadoes across several southern US states . In Mississippi, three deaths were confirmed in Jefferson Davis County, two in Lawrence and one in Walthall. Tornadoes touched down in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. Mississippi governor Tate Reeves has declared a state of emergency after several tornadoes struck the state. Around 300 homes and other buildings were damaged in northern Louisiana. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued tornado watches and warnings for several states including Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama.

Tornado warning issued for Onslow County, NC

April 13, 2020: A tornado warning has been issued for Central Onlosw County, North Carolina.  At 09:57 am EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Belgrade or 11 miles northeast of Piney Green and was moving northeast at 60 mph. Locations that could be impacted Jacksonville, New River Station, Pumpkin Center, Piney Green, Camp Lejeune Center, Swansboro, Hubert, Maysville, Silverdale, Kellum, Midway Park, Belgrade, Catfish Lake, Deppe and Loco VFD. At least six people have already died after storms triggered tornadoes and flooding in Mississippi . Tornadoes touched down in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. Mississippi governor Tate Reeves has declared a state of emergency .

Tornado damage reported in Mississippi and Alabama

March 24, 2020: A large tornado ripped across northeastern Mississippi and northwestern Alabama causing injuries and damage in the town of Tishomingo, Mississippi, near the Alabama state line. According to the Weather Channel, a Dollar General store was destroyed in Tishomingo. The National Weather Service in Memphis confirmed the tornado moved through shortly after 5:30 p.m. local time.

Strong storm in Vietnam kills 5, damages 6800 houses

March 5, 2020: Strong storm in Vietnam has claimed lives of five people and damaged around 6,800 houses. Tornadoes, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have been reported in northern Vietnam. According to the the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority (VDMA), storm has affected Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Cao Bang and Son La provinces of Vietnam.

Storm damage in Louisiana today: Three killed and damage from Texas to Tennessee

January 11, 2020:  Severe storm in Louisiana has claimed lives of three people and caused damage from Texas to Tennessee. Two people died in a storm near Haughton when their mobile home was destroyed. Third person died when a tree fell on the house in Oil City. In Arkansas and Missouri, tornadoes destroyed homes and also caused damage in Oklahoma. A tornado destroyed two homes near Fair Play, Missouri, about 56 km northwest of Springfield. According to the Logan County Emergency Management, at least three homes were destroyed by the tornado in Arkansas. First recorded tornado in Nepal kills 29 in Bara and Parsa

April 8, 2019: A preliminary report by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DoHM) has confirmed the first recorded tornado in Nepal which caused damages in Bara and Parsa, the Terai districts of Nepal. According to the satellite image, the tornado in Bara and Parsa district of Nepal covered at least 30 kilometres distance with width of the trail around 200 to 250 metres. The devastating natural disaster was reported between 7:45pm and 8:15pm on March 31, 2019. DoHM with the support from Small Earth Nepal investigated the storm in Nepal. Madan Lal Shrestha, former director general of DoHM and academician of Nepal Academy of Science Technology, a group of scientists found that Bara's windstorm was tornado. Tornadoes in Georgia and Mississippi kill 19

January 22, 2017: At least 15 people died in Georgia and four others in Mississippi after multiple tornadoes rattled the region. In total at least 62 tornadoes touched down across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina from January 21 to 23, 2017. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant has declared a state of emergency. Similarly, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has also declared a state of emergency in seven counties. This is the second deadliest tornado outbreak in the United States in the month of January since 1950.

Tornado in Rome, Italy kills 2; Overturns cars, uproots trees

Tornado overturned cars as well as uprooted tress (Rex Features via The Sun) November 7, 2016: At least two people died after tornado lashed Italian coast overturning cars and uprooting trees on its way. Tornado on the coast north of Rome claimed life of an Indian man. Another man died when a tree fell on his car and many others were injured across central Italy.

Jiangsu, China Tornado 2016: At least 99 dead, 846 injured

Tornado damage in China's Jiangsu Province (Xinhua/Cai Yang) A violent tornado in Jiangsu province of China has claimed lives of at least 99 people and injured 846 others. The China Meteorological Administration ranked the tornado as an EF4 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with maximum sustained winds greater than 266 km/h which hit along the outskirts of Yancheng around 2:30 p.m. local time on June 23, 2016. EF-4 is the second strongest rating for tornadoes.

Tornado in Vero Beach, Florida damages 20 houses

Tornado in Vero Beach in Florida has damaged 20 homes on Tuesday afternoon. Heavy storm laos damaged cars and toppled tress. The National Weather Service office in Melbourne reported a new record rainfall in Vero Beach of 9.78 inches through 7 p.m., making it the wettest day in the city's history, WFTV reported.

Two killed as tornadoes sweep across Oklahoma

Tornado in Oklahoma (JR Hehnly via CBS News) At least two people died after tornadoes swept across Oklahoma Monday. A tornado hit a home near Wynnewood claiming life of a person, Garvin County officials confirmed. Another man was killed by a tornado near Connerville. One person sustained minor injuries in Murray County.

Tornado in Lake Charles, Louisiana damages one home

A tornado touched down on the southeast side of Lake Charles damaging one home, the National Weather Service confirmed. EF 1 tornado with winds of 100 mph damaged a roof off of the home Thursday morning,  Waco Tribune-Herald mentioned.
