-Seven floodgates closed in the Orleans Levee District. The gates are closed to give a protection elevation of up to five feet.

Tropical Storm Debby
-As of 03:00 UTC, TS Debby was located 350 km SSE of the mouth of the Mississippi River.
-A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the coast of Louisiana from the mouth of the Pearl River westward to Morgan City.
-Debby is expected to produce rain accumulations of 3 to 6 inches along the Gulf Coast from southern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle.
-According to NOAA, isolated tornadoes are possible over portions of the west-central and southwestern Florida Peninsula tonight and Sunday.
-Production at four oil and natural gas platforms in the east-central Gulf of Mexico shut down by Anadarko Petroleum Corp. due to the threat of Storm Debby.
-Tornado touched down in southwest Florida. Several houses damaged. However no injury reported. Florida is a state in the southeastern region of the United States, bordered to the west by the Gulf of Mexico, to the north by Alabama and Georgia and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean.
-Debby is forecast to be near hurricane force winds by Monday night.
-It was the first time four tropical storms have been recorded before July 1 during the Atlantic hurricane season since record keeping began in 1851.
