Recent Natural Disasters
  • Flooding in Taichung, Taiwan
    -More than 3,000 people evacuated after flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
    -Following the Central Weather Bureau, the torrential rains may last until Wednesday.
    -In 2009, Typhoon Morakot triggered massive mudslides that killed more than 600 people. Click for detail update report on this Taiwan floods.

    -At least five people reported to be killed in mudslides in Central Taiwan (Nantou county).
  • Tornado in Venice, Italy
    -Damaging tornado (likely an F2) reported in Venice (Veneto, North-East Italy), notably the isles of Saint Helen (Sant'Elena), Saint Erasmus (Sant'Erasmo) and the Lido.
    -he cemetery on Sant’Erasmo island is currently closed.

Flooding List
  • Flooding in Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat, Philippines
    -Torrential rain in Mindanao caused flash floods in Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.
    -Twenty three families evacuated in villages of Obial, Sta. Clara, Hinalaan, Himulan and Kalamansig and five families from Poblacion village in Kidapawan City.
    Update
    -Following the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, Philippines one person died by drowning. Over 300 families are directly affected by Mindanao flashfloods.
  • Flooding in Belfast And Lisburn, Ireland
    -Heavy rainfall caused flooding in Belfast and Lisburn city. Lisburn is a city in Northern Ireland situated southwest of Belfast on the River Lagan.
    -Worst effected area reported too eb Sicily Park, Finagh. Clean-up operation has already started there.
    -Ashmount Gardens, Wallace Park and Magheralave Road flooded in Lisburn.

  • Tropical Storm Guchol
    -Tropical Storm (TS) 05w (Guchol) is located approximately 225 nm east of Yap and 2,750 kilometers east-southeast of Taiwan.
    -Yap, also known as Wa'ab by locals, is an island in the Caroline Islands of the western Pacific Ocean. It is a state of the Federated States of Micronesia.
    -Following Weather Bureau in Taiwan, tropical storm Guchol remains far away from Taiwan and is therefore unlikely to start affecting the island.
    -Guchol, meaning "spice," was named by the Pacific island nation of Federated States of Micronesia.
