Massive flooding in Northern Afghanistan
-At least 37 people reported to be killed in massive flooding in northern Afghanistan.
-Twenty four people killed in four districts, including the provincial capital of Chaghcharan and 13 other killed in Yaftal district.
-Following the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, 135 houses in Badakhshan were destroyed.
-Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located in the centre of Asia.

Some things to be aware of when in a flash flood prone area OR What not to do before/after a flood or flash flood:

• Be aware of any signs of heavy rain
• If you see or hear rapid rising water get to high ground
• Do not attempt to cross the flowing water
