Recent Natural Disasters

• Flooding in Hell's Gate National Park, Kenya
  -One killed and six are reported to be missing after a flash flood in Hell's Gate National Park.
  -All the victims are the members of a church youth group.
  -Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the Nairobi region caused flooding.
  -Hells Gate National Park lies to the south of Lake Naivasha.
  Update
  -All the seven members of a Nairobi church youth group who were swept away in flood are now reported to be dead.
  -The Kenya Red Cross helped to take out the bodies from the gorge.

• M 3.9 light shallow earthquake in Greater Los Angeles Area, California (@ 13 km depth) today with epicenter located just 4 km SSW from Laguna Niguel. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Laguna Niguel, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano. People of Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Long Beach and Los Angeles will have felt weak shaking of MMI II-III.

  Trabuco canyon,Orange County, California: I'm pretty used to earthquakes since I was born and still live In California. This one shook strong for a brief moment and then I felt the rolling ripple as I was still and quiet. I know it was also felt in Mission Viejo

• M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Oaxaca, Mexico (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 17 km NW Pinotepa nacional. Weak shaking will have felt as far as Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico.

• M 5.1 moderate earthquake in Guatemala (@ 57 km depth) with epicenter located 64 km WNW of Puerto Barrios.Weak shaking will have felt in a vast area. Weak shaking will have even felt in parts of Honduras, Belize and El Salvador.
