Natural Disaster area Declared for the municipalities of Martyrs of Tacubaya, Pinotepa de Don Luis, San Augustine Chayuco, San Andres Huaxpaltepec, San Antonio Tepetlapa, San Jose Estancia Grande, San Juan Bautista What de Soto, San Juan Cacahuatepec, San Juan Colorado, San Lorenzo, San Miguel Tlacamama, San Pedro Atoyac Jicayán San Pedro, Santiago lxtayutla, Santa Catarina Mechoacan, Tapextla Santiago, Santiago Llano Grande, Santiago Tetepec, Cortijo Santa Maria, Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, San Sebastian Ixcapa, Jamiltepec Santiago, Santo Domingo Armenta, Santa Maria Huazolotitlán, San Pedro Amuzgos, Santa Maria Ipalapa, and Santa Maria Zacatepec the State of Oaxaca.

Update March 23, 2012
-Two people reported to be killed in Southern Mexico
-One died by falling wall on him while other because of hearth attack
-Aftershocks are still reported in this region

-The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources reports on the behavior of the seismic swarm located in the volcano of San Salvador.

-About 30,000 houses reported to be damaged in Guerrero
-Atleast 2,000 houses damaged in Oaxaca

-Nine people injured. Zero fatalities reported.
-About 2,000 homes affected and property damage in at least 17 municipalities
-Minor damage reported in metropolitan area of ​​the city of Oaxaca, Santa Lucia and Santa Cruz Xoxocotlan. However, Cultural Heritage of the City of Oaxaca suffered no damage.

-Official data mentions nine people injured so far. Two in Putla Villa Guerrero and five in National Pinotepa. Two of which are seriously injured are treated at a hospital in Acapulco and a more in the Civil Hospital.

The governor of Oaxaca, Gabino Cue Monteagudo, give a sign of Oaxaca to be declared as DISASTER AREA. Once the data full data is obtained, the action may be taken.

Aftershocks continues. M 4.5 moderate aftershock recorded offshore Oaxaca, Mexico with epicenter located 169 km ESE of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico

-At least 800 homes damaged in Guerrero
-7 people injured, two in Mexico city and five in Oaxaca province
-A pedestrian bridge in the capital collapsed
-The quake was felt as far as Guatemala

-About 100 homes reported to be destroyed around epicenter and at least 500 homes developed cracks
-Landslide reported in a highway in Oaxaca

The public arousal system (seismic alarm) was activated in the state capital. Cracks in church of St. Augustine.

People in Oaxaca reported to left their homes, offices, restaurants and medical centers for shelter. The state security services is on tour to monitor possible damage.

Light shaking will have felt by the people in populated area of  Puebla de Zaragoza, Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico City, Naucalpan de Juarez and Tlalnepantla. The shaking is enough to panic the people in this area.

Following GDACS which mentions RED ALERT, Tsunami is expected. The maximum Tsunami wave height is  0.3m in Tierra Colorada, Mexico. This height will be reached 00:00 hours after the start of the event.

M 7.9 Extremely dangerous earthquake rattles Mexico today with epicenter 52 km NE from Ometepec, Guerrero, Mexico. USGS mentions M 7.9 making it extremely dangerous. If preliminary data is correct, heavy damage confirmed.
