Recent World Disasters   

• Wild Fire in Washoe Valley, State of Nevada, USA
  -More than 30 homes destroyed and 1 death reported in Fire zone in Washoe Valley
  -The blaze has consumed more than 3,700 acres
  -About 300 firefighters still on the scene (65 percent contained)
  -Gov. Sandoval toured the area damaged by fire, and told it as "horrendous, devastating."
  -Washoe County officials declared a state of emergency after the fire
  -The cause of the fire remains under investigation (Aside is Video of "Washoe Drive Fire")
  UPDATE
  -All of U.S. Highway 395 between Reno and Carson City will be reopened by Saturday morning
  -Extreme weather along with Heavy rainfall predicted in burned area

• M 6.3 very strong earthquake in Chiapas, Mexico (@ 80 km depth) with epicenter located 91 km W of Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. About 133,000 people will have felt strong shaking of MMI VI. Strong shaking will have felt by the people of Acapetagua, Mapastepec, Mazatan and Villa Comaltitlan region. NO DAMAGE EXPECTED BUT CAN HAVE MANY AFTERSHOCKS

• M 3.0 weak very shallow earthquake in Iraq (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located just 23 km N Tall 'afar. It will be well felt in Tall 'afar and Sinjar region of Iraq.

• M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Taiwan (@ 27km depth) with epicenter located 60 km E of Hualien, Taiwan. Weak shaking will have felt in Hualien and Su'ao region of Taiwan

  Funso brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 138 km/h (86 mph). There is also the potential for flooding further inland due to heavy rain
