    declared in Paraguay for next three months
    -More than 100 thousand people are affected by drought in Paraguay
    -Northern departments of San Pedro and Canindeyú
    worse hit by drought

    Drought Emergency declared in Cordoba, Argentina too
    -The US Department of Agriculture
    had expect Argentina to produce 50.5 million tons of soy and 26 million tons of corn in the 2011/12 season

    is the third largest exporter of soybeans in South America behind Brazil and Argentina
  • M 5.1 strong very shallow and dangerous earthquake in Northeastern Iran with epicenter located just 11 km NE of Neishabour , Iran. About 268,000 people will have felt strong shaking of MMI VI.  Neishabour is the nearest populated area with population 221,000, where strongest jolt will have felt. people of Chenaran and Mashhad will have felt light shaking of MMI III. Weak shaking will have felt in Quchan, Sabzevar, Kashmar, Torbat-e Heydariyeh, Esfarayen, Tejen and Torbat-e Jam region of Iran. Iran is located on major seismic fault lines and is prone to frequent earthquakes (details below)

  • Heavy flooding in Kruger National Park South Africa
    -Tropical storm "Dando" hit southern Mozambique since the beginning of the week which caused heavy flooding in Eastern parts of South Africa
    -Certain gates and roads in the park have been closed along with the Biyamiti Bush Camp, Shimuwini Bush Camp, Talamati Bush Camp and Tshokwane picnic site
    -Tinga Private Lodge being evacuated
    -Lower Sabie and Skukuza are cut off and precautionary evacuations are being carried out on low lying areas (With Special thanks to Elsabe from South Africa for mentioning in mail about the flooding in South Africa, "Please check heavy rains and flooding in Eastern parts of South Africa. Parts of Kruger National Park, Mozambique and Swaziland presently flooded")

    -32 tourists who were trapped in South Africa's Kruger National Park after torrential rains and flooding have been rescued

  • USDA announced to provide Nebraska with $10.6 million in disaster funds to help farmers recover from flooding along the Missouri River
